May 1st is the perfect time to say hello and send my best hopes to you for a lovely spring. A warm welcome to new followers ❤ . To all, thank you for reading, your follow, likes, and comments! I never take you or your valuable time for granted. I would also appreciate a comment anytime from you about what’s on your mind, how you’re feeling, or what you’re doing this month.
What do you love about spring? What is your absolute favorite thing about spring? How does spring compare to others seasons for you?
For me, spring is about gorgeous Arizona weather, Easter baskets, and baseball from Little League to Major League and everything in between. These three favorites lay the foundation for other lovely things such as baby birds chirping from their nest outside my window, feasting with chocolate, and watching my sons play ball. And there’s more: pretty pastels, delicious shandy and seasonal craft beer, longer sunny days, running outdoors, and grilling to our hearts’ content. Spring is my favorite season!
If I had to choose one and only one favorite, it would be the privilege of watching my sons play baseball. And that, my friends, deserves its own blog post soon.
I look forward to hearing more from you and have a Marvelous May ❤ ~~~~~~~~ Angie Mc

Happy May to you as well, Angie … Favorite thing about spring in Central New York? Not having to decide whether to wear 4 or 5 layers to run outside! And, of course, baseball.

Of course, baseball 😀 And you’re looking forward to God’s country becoming more and more gorgeous! I’m trying not to anticipate the upcoming heat, boo hoo….

Being able to take the kids out of the house without spending half an hour bundling them up first. We’re not nearly as late to everything during the warm months. But we’re still late.

Exactly! Oh the days of bundling are gone because my children are older and because I live in the desert. Then why am I often late?

One of the things I love about spring is getting back to my evening walks. I always exercise in the morning, but I still like to go for an evening walk. In the winter I do it on my treadmill while I read a book. Otherwise I’d get too bored. But once warmer weather comes, I head outside. Nature gives walking a whole new feel to it, and it never gets boring. 🙂

I love to walk with my husband in the evening. And I prefer to run outdoors. But now that I’m running longer distances I’ll need to go inside for the summer. I’m just not that devoted to run in the desert heat!

Ha, yes, that could be a tad taxing!

I love spring because I can go outside without having to dress in a space suit due to the cold and my face is not being sliced up from arctic winds.

Carefully chosen words do paint the picture well, John! Some winter you’ll need to come south to Arizona for a winter vacation! And then I can invite myself up north for a summer vacation 😀

Yes! Maureen and I were just talking about taking some trips down south in the winter and you would probably find our summers here quite nice in that we don’t have anywhere near the heat of Arizona.

Consider yourselves invited to Phoenix! If all goes well, I’ll at least be heading to Pullman WA this summer to see my daughter’s family. And every year we have a “staycation” with friends at a local resort during August; talk about cheap rates!

I’ve driven through Oregon and Washington and thought they were quite beautiful. Freinds in resorts are good to have.

The resorts here in the summer are a hoot! It’s like mom and dad have left the house for the weekend and all the teens throw a party 😀

That reminds me. I was watching the news the last night and a couple in Calgary (a city a couple hours south of Edmonton) accessed this online service where you can rent out your home to people visiting the area that need somewhere to stay. They came home to find there house destroyed. Apperently the guests had a party with more than 100 people. Yikes!

WHAT?! Funny, Dave and I have considered renting our place out for events like the Super Bowl and golfing events near our home. I’m just not sure it is worth it, but some friends we know (who live in prime locations) rent their places out for a small fortune.

Flowers, warmer weather, sunny days, the first glass of sun tea of the season, taking walks outside (instead of on the treadmill), the sounds of children playing outside, birds building nests. What isn’t there to like about spring!

I’m with you, Michelle! Sun tea, thanks for the reminder. The only trouble I have with spring is that I know summer is quickly approaching. I hear something about hitting 100* tomorrow. I’m in denial 😉

Oh yes, those AZ summers are scorchers, but I remember April days where the afternoon temps were high enough to roast marshmallows.

I make it until June before I allow myself to think too much about the heat. Once it hits 110*, our whole family is allowed to complain and bellyache as much as we want!!!

Long days and a nice weather. Roses in full bloom in my little garden. But no, no to loud birds and insects!

Roses in full bloom…how lovely! And I agree about the loud birds and insects 🙂 Although, I don’t mind our cactus wrens causing a fuss, they’re our little rowdy friends 😀 I hope your weekend is moving along beautifully, Rumiya.

Your post is wonderful and yes bird watching is on my spring list too! Looks like we shared the same thought in May…spring is definitely in the air! ❤ ❤ and I love its freshness!

Oh the birds! Cactus wrens, Gamble quails, humming birds galore, Northern Mockingbirds, finches, sparrows, and an occasional Roadrunner ~~~~ swoon!
