The heart has its reasons of which reason knows nothing. ~ Blaise Pascal
My heart is both full and broken because endless experiences flit, pummel, and soothe.
At times, my brain pays attention and takes note of my experience. At other times, it is distracted or overwhelmed. Even when mental notes are taken, they can be damaged or lost.
I primarily depend on my reason to guide my heart, because feelings based on lies are a waste. Yet, I find comfort in knowing that the heart has its reasons.
When a heart is angry or scared, there is reason even if the reason is unknown. A heart can be happy because of seemingly silly reasons, like pretty nail polish, a baseball game won, chatting on twitter, or a nice cold beer. And isn’t happiness itself a reasonable goal?
The ultimate reason of the heart is to grow itself, to love and to be loved.

The heart needs no reason. This, I believe.
