Running is most fun when it’s done under a big blue sky, the temperature is slightly cool, and the company is excellent. Running was most fun today.
I ran with my daughter and grandson today. She took this picture of me. I should have been taking a picture of her!
We have never run together before. Walked but not run. It was after she ran a marathon in the spring of 2013 that I decided I needed to find a way to run. She moved from Arizona that summer. In the fall of 2013 I took my first baby running steps.
We follow each other on RunKeeper. But while I run on the flat desert, she runs uphill both ways in the mountains while pushing a jogging stroller! RunKeeper should give her extra credit. I joined her today in her interval training.
At the end of our run, RunKeeper announced with an exclamation point that I had run my 78th fastest run! By usual standards, that’s terrible. But today, we ran fast enough to get there and slow enough to be with each other.
Best. Run. Ever.
Do you run? Do you run with friends or family? How’s the weather where you are?
Happy weekend ~~~~~~~~ Angie Mc

I rarely run. The Mister and Moo run. They are runners. They exhaust me easily!

LOL! Run away from zombies as you are running toward the ice cream truck – works!

You’re having a great time…I can tell. ☺ I used to run. I have the hip/leg/knees/ankles to prove it. Now, I walk. Enjoy yourself ! ❤️ 🏃 🚶 💃❤️

You know this great time, Van ❤ What's better than spending quality time with our young adult children?! I'm glad you had a chance to be a runner. I actually still prefer to walk, but for practical reasons, I run for now. Enjoying the ride…run 😀

Sometimes I feel like running away from my family. Does that count?

Angie & Vanbytheriver, I once heard from one man he was told by a famous orthopedist running led to chondromalations of his knees, he was told it is crutial our joints anatomy is strictly right to run safely. It is believed marching is much safer. Just saying.

You are right, Alice! Marching, sometimes called high knees, is something I want to do more of. Here’s an article that connects marching to running http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/06/04/100-up-running_n_5406664.html

Thank you, Angie. It’s an interesting one, I like te philosophy of adaptation, good point on warmups and it seems, it work for real people. To stick to my point I would extract his minor and major part, important destinction for those not sure of their knees condition. Thank you for this article :):)

There is no better bang for your buck than running.

I need as much bang for my buck as I can get, John! Walking was just taking up too much of my time. This summer I’ll become one with the treadmill 😀

Yes, I have been running for almost 4o years but I prefer to run alone. I am slower now but I still keep moving as it is great exercise and therapy. Lucky you to be able to run with daughter and grandson. My daughter also.

CC I’m beyond impressed that have been running for almost 40 years! Wow, you are doing something very right 😀 I agree about exercise and therapy. I mostly run alone to clear my head…or more to just be for a few minutes ❤

I wish I could run like that. I always lose my breath too easily. That’s good you run. Keeps you fit.

I am not, and have never been, a runner. I know I could work up to and over the too “out of shape” part of it, but a certain part of my physical anatomy would not make running fun for me! Lol I am (kindofsortofbutnotreally, cough cough) working on walking more and more. My goal is to do at least one 5K walk before Fall is over.

5Ks are the best! They have real people like us in them 😀 They tend to be light-hearted, fun, and encouraging. Plus, often they are for fundraising. Great goal, do it!
