Bloggers, Awards, and Excuse My Dust #SocialMedia

ETA: Blog Awards & Challenges, A Great Run Completed August 15, 2015

My windows are flung open to allow fresh autumn air into our no-longer-hot-as-Hades desert home.  I’m refreshing my blog, too, with The Collections Theme, updating pages, and posting a variety of media.  I’m having fun, enjoying the ride of the early learning curve.

When I realized that this theme didn’t allow for a widget to show my blogging community on the home page as before, I was disappointed, but decided to gather links to bloggers I’ve engaged with via my previous awards page as well as comments and likes on my posts.  These are active bloggers who encourage and engage.  Nice.

Then yesterday, Aquileana at La Audacia de Aquiles  nominated me for the Wonderful Team Member Readership Award so I thought this was a good opportunity to thank her, thank you Aquileana!, and let you all know that I’m in the process of updating my Bloggers ❤ Awards page.  On this page you will find many lovely bloggers with a variety of enjoyable blogs.  If you aren’t on this list and should be, please let me know in the comments, thanks.

Also, here are links to 13 currently active bloggers I’ve known for some time now, who I nominate for the Wonderful Team Member Readership Award.  Thank you!

  1. Thank you so much for the mention, Angie! To be honest, I’ve been nominated for sooo many awards and yet I’ve only “accepted” a few by going through the motions. I do try to give back to the community though by way of prompts, as you know.
I love the simplicity of your new theme! 😀

    • My privilege! Your prompts and ability to gather bloggers together is a fine example of connection and support. And one of these Saturdays, I’m going to let my stream of conscience run wild on your blog 😀

And thanks for liking my theme. There are some kinks I need to figure out, like why my homepage doesn’t actually show the most recent quote, video clip, music cover. Always something new to learn so I’ll never be bored, Linda!

  2. Thank you Angie ❤ My appreciation for you goes without saying. When it comes to awards, I am thankful for thoughtfulness of the giver and thankful for the award. I am here on WP, writing, engaging, connecting, sharing, and having fun. I find that very rewarding most of all. ❤

    • You are most welcome, Sylvester! I love how you visit blogs and comment and basically spill over the love from your poetic blog to others. I like stopping by a blog that we each follow and seeing you there…hmmm…come to think of it, I should let you know I’m there reading and at least like your comments! Putting this blogging thing together, slowly, surely, I hope 🙂 Sending AZ sunshine your way….

  3. I decided some time ago to be a thank you but no awards person. For me having bloggers read my posts is a wonder in itself, the best thing for me has been those bloggers who saw fit to re blog me, that is a wonderful compliment I have to say.
    Enjoy your weekend.

    • Right back at you, Jill! I do believe that when I first started to blog, I followed you and you invited your followers to introduce themselves. That was a great way to connect! Hmmm…maybe I should follow your example and do the same at my blog. Mental note taken 🙂 Enjoy!

  5. Thank you for including me. I too am enjoying cooler weather and can finally turn off the air conditioner for the first time since early last May.
I enjoy when fellow bloggers comment on my posts and I particularly like when some of them let me know that they tried one of my recipes and they liked it.
The internet and blogging allow for one to make friends with people we have never been in the same room with, or who live on different continents or on the otherside of the US – it is amazing but a number of bloggers I communicate with have become dear friends despite the distance. Like you., Angie.

    • Blogging is, like so many amazing tools, what we make of it and I’m so very impressed by those who use this tool well. Not only are your posts some of the comprehensive and gorgeous out there, you also take the time to connect via comments and show your kindness that way. And now I feel compelled to get to that almond cake recipe of yours that I’ve been dreaming about…or should I make the Limoncello Tiramisu? Drooling…
