My daughter will have her baby any day now.
This Easter I’m away from my husband and sons in Arizona so that I can help her and my son-in-law in Washington. As we celebrate Easter here by going to church, packing a picnic lunch, eating candy from an Easter basket, and enjoying a sunny day near lambs in pasture, my husband and sons carry on our traditions at home. Yes, we are separated by miles. Yes, we feel close.
My eight year old son even understands that babies, and new parents, need lots of tender loving care. Babies, and their mothers, especially need others to hold their acts together and sacrifice their own comforts in order to launch them securely into their new life together. Because we can.
So we wait….❤

Oh, Jill, we’re very fortunate to have each other, it is true. We were discussing how we are very grateful to have wrestled with each other (since her birth lol) and come to a place of mutual love and respect. Now wouldn’t be the time to sort stuff out! She was a spirited child and I was a strong willed mama. Somehow we made…and here we are ❤ Thanks for your well-wishes and have a terrific day!

I’m realizing more and more that no one has ever said parenting was going to be easy, but they do say it will be worth it! I try to keep that in mind on the not-so-easy days 🙂
